getting my box chiped and was wondering how big of a hdd i should put in it. note i have no computer so everthing will be on the hard drive. also what do i nead to do to the hard drive inorder to copy games, movies to it
It depends how many games you want. Most people have a 120GB or 160GB hard drive. With those you can EASILY store 50+ xbox games. You need a utiliy called DVD2Xbox to copy xbox games onto your hdd. but Usually u'd need a computer to ftp dvd2xbox onto you hdd.
Any size HD (400GB being the max) will work fine, just make sure to get an ATA/133. Also, stay away from 5400 RPM HD's, as they are quite slow compared to 7200 RPM's. The most common that I install are 120GB and 200GB HD's.
so would this one work?? http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10032598&catid=20240
I have never tested the EIDE interface one's and I cannot guarantee it will be compatible w/ your Xbox. Does anybody else possibly know if it does work? If nobody responds, try to find an ATA/133 interface P.S. On eBay, you can get a brand new Western Digital 160GB HD for under $100.
Yes that hardrive works because it's ATA/100. Also you can find great hardrive at great price at newegg.com Hope this help.
