Is there a program that lets me extract subtitles from avi files in a .srt file form? I tried "avi subdetector", but when the .srt file is completed, I don't have the words of the subtitles, I have things like: "1 00:00:27,110 --> 00:00:29,112 ! Frame=650LC=20;MED=132;MBC=13;MBX=3;LMB=167;RMB=337;" instead of something like: "1 00:00:27,110 --> 00:00:29,112 "here we sit alone in the dark" Can anyone help me? I'm no professional, so I need the easiest program. Thank you
This type of program uses OCR to translate hard subs to text format and they all take a lot of time and effort to get decent results. This is a downloadable guide in PDF format. http://www.wxfs.org/guides/HowtoRiptheTimingandEnglishSubsFromanAVIfileUsingAviSubDetector.pdf
I've followed the guide and the program only worked once when I was testing it. Every other time it gets to the first subtitle, says detected and does nothing. Any other suggestions would be appreciated (either different programs or what I might be doing wrong). So far I have tried subrip, videosubfinder and AVIsubdetector. TIA
