Well before you go about upgrading to 3.52 M33 are you more interested in playing your iso's? Or more about homebrew and customizing your PSP's menu? Also for a easier upgrading/downgrading process check this app out. It's quite handy, and if you have a broadband connection I recommend going with the "full" version.

Alright, then if playing iso's is the most important thing then there is no better than team M-33's firmware as they have integrated Sonys own ISO loader into there firmware and it works 100%. No UMD's needed for any game. I personally would rather lose a $50 memory stick w/ five of my iso rips on it than lose 5 UMD'S. At lets say $30 dollars a piece thats US $150!!

So yeah use that program I linked you to and use it to go up to 3.52 M-33 :)

I take it you mean a 3.51 PSP? If so then nothing. If you meant 2.71 then you have some possibilities.

Yes you can format your memorystick. And again for a easy upgrade to a custom firmware use this program.

Well i don't think u can play it because u have a firmware that's not custom...but if it's an iso or cso file u should try making a folder named "ISO" in the root of your memory stick *Note: Do not put the "ISO" folder in the "MP_ROOT" folder of your memory stick*

Do that and you should be at a 3.52 M33 firmware in no time.

Alright to make all ISO's play without needing a UMD in teh drive you must enable "Sony ISO 9600" as the No-UMD option from the Recovery Menu. To get to the recovery menu turn the PSP completely off. Now hold the "R" trigger while turning the PSP on. You should be presented with a menu, and from this menu you will want to choose "Configuration". Under this menu one of the options near the bottom should be labeled something like "No-UMD Mode" hit X/O until it says it is using "Sony ISO 9600" as the No-UMD mode. Once this option is enabled you can exit the recovery menu. Now with your PSP on first format your memorystick, and then initiate a USB connection. There should be a folder in the beggining of your memory stick named ISO. Place your ISO's/CSO's in that folder. All your games should now be accessible via the Game menu.
