I watch video files on my television (rather than computer) using xmbc through Slayers EvoX v.3935 dashboard. Is it possible to install a .mkv media pack (codecs and player) that won't screw-up current xmbc settings. Even if a have to use it as a seperate program not in xmbc is fine, just what should i do? If anyone has an answer i'd appreciate the help.
I don't think XBMC can be set-up to play mkv. You might be better off converting it to a different format such as divx or avi.
Actually with further research allowed me to find an xbmc auto-installer that worked great. simply search for frank's xbmc autoinstaller" on almost ant bt site. download and burn as .iso. when installing choose 'backup'. this upgrades the main xbmc you use while keeping the original and still usable original version of xbmc (found under the apps. section of your evox dashboard). Hope this helps anyone who wants to watch .mkv files on their TV without going through the process of converting!
