My brother in law's family lives in Ireland and made us a video recording and burned it to DVD. So I have just this DVD-R and it won't play in any of our NTSC stuff (US), I'm assuming because it's PAL format. I tried putting it in my DVD drive and it says Invalid Function when I try to open it, properties says it's blank. I tried in my PS2 with a swap disc and it said invalid PS2 disc. So did they do something when recording it (I assume they don't know much about recording), or are there restrictions and format problems from it's trans-atlantic trip? Thanks if anyone can help.
What model/brand is your DVD player? Some DVD player can be hacked into Region Free and PAL & NTSC compatible. Go here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers and check to see if your DVD player has any hacked code. Worst case scenario have Nero Vision or VobBlanker to convert from PAL to NTSC.
