    Hi there,

I have a laptop that has a firewire port and a PC that has a firewire card, i also have a firewire cable. I connected the cable from my PC to my laptop and i thought my laptop would recongnise the link but it did not. I basically want to transfer a lot of data files such as mp3 and video data from my PC to my laptop. How can i do this using firewire?

    Any help much appreciated

    Thank you very much

As soon as i plug one end of the cable into my firewire port of my laptop and then plug the other end into the firewire card of my PC i thought it would detect it, but it won't and absolutely nothing happens. You know like when your using USB as soon as you plug the USB cable in it detects and tells you information in the bottom right corner of the screen well with this firewire cable it does not detect anything.

    Please any help much appreciated

    Many thanks
