Hi, I have home video files which were transferred from cam to video and then to DVD. I copied the files to my computer as an extra back-up, but also would like to be able to view them. Each one has 2 folders: Video_RM and Video_TS. Inside Video_Rm we have Video_MN, Video_MN.IFO, Video_RM, Video_RM.BUP and Video_RM.IFO Inside Video_TS there is: VTS_01_0.IFO, and then VTS_0_1,2,3,4 and 5 Could anyone please help me with what to do with these? I'm not that technically great so the simpler the better if possible. I downloaded a program called DVD2AVI after reading another thread, but I don't think that's what I need. Thanks for any wisdom that may come my way, Steve.
View as in watch the files? If you just wanna watch the files, I'd suggest downloading VLC Media Player and using the Open Folder option under Media. Open the VIDEO_TS folder. Ignore the VIDEO_RM folder... I don't think it's even necessary. Typical DVD structure uses VIDEO_TS and all files associated with it are located within that folder. The *.IFO file contains the DVD structure and navigation information for each of the VOB files. The *.VOB files contain the video footage.
Ahhh... I was doing it the wrong way round... trying to open the file directly. When I searched for it FROM the media player it worked! Thanks very much! Steve.
One more thing... so if I was wanting to burn these files to a DVD again, would I just copy all the files listed onto it?
