How come on my finished dvd's the sound comes out late after the people move there mouth?

    How come on my finished dvd's the sound comes out late after the people move there mouth? Im using Xilisoft to convert the avi files to dvd files(vob) then im using TMPGEnc dvd author to burn them on to dvd discs. please can some body help me. tell me step by step what to do. thanx
