how convert avi to mpg

    i have movies mpg and the are more longer from 90 mints and i can burn them on one cd and them size not more from 650mb . but when i converting movie from avi to mpg it give me file by siza 1.5GB and that not alowed me to burn it on one cd..so what the best program to convert avi or dvd to mpg and make it burn on one cd and what the diffrent btween mpg and mpeg1 and mpeg2 ..
    sorry if maybe theis is not the right place but i need the help in this one ..

    hi what do you use to convert your avi to mpg? i use vcdgear and it is very reliable just google it and download the beta version. its the best thing to use...its very quick! aafter you converted it with vcdgear burn it with either nero or power to go but most burners should burn it. hope this helped!!

    hey how do you ise vcdgear to convert avi to mpg, i cant seem to figure it out?

    i didn't find way to convert the movie from acvi to mpg but the program you add.
    its program for make dat to iso or bin and cue ..so the program didn't help me ..thanx any way

    hi sorry bout that. vcdgear is to convert bin and cue files soz but its still a good program if you use bittorrent. the program you want to use is tmpg enc it converts your avi to mpg for sure! but its going to take time!!!! hope it works for you

    WHy does my TMPGenc does not support AVI input?
