How could I get Halo 2 modded without having it on HD, and how can I get it on HD?

Hello, I have been searching for a method to use modded maps in halo 2, without having it on your HD, but I can't find how to do that. I have modded maps now and I know how to put the in the map folder etc. But how can I do it when halo 2 is not on my HD? And if there isn't any method of doing that, how can I copy halo 2 to my HD? According to my file manager, halo 2 is about 6.7 GB, way to big for my standard HD.

I dont mod halo2 but I can tell you this. You want to mod halo2 maps, weapons, etc... which mean you want to change the map or weapon files. If you leave it on DVD, how do you edit and save it back to DVD?

you need mod xbox. If you do, which dashboards do you have? or you can ftp.

Thanks for the help, but I already know how to do that I have Evo X, unleash X and media center, and I have a standard HD. I know wich files of halo 2 I need (all files exept for the singleplayer levels and the bink movies) but how can I select files that I want to copy from the game disc?
