I've read a lot of guides ad a lot of opinions on what is the best way to add SRT subtitles to your AVI and I'm now confused. Simply put, what s the easiest most simple method you suggest? I alway's convert the AVI with VSO into Video-ts and burn with Nero Burning Rom ... but now what for subs? Is it AVI Recomp or other? Thanks
the only 2 programs i use for AVI to DVD are ConvertXtoDVD and DVD Flick. For .srt subs just make sure the sub file has the same name as the AVI (except for the .srt bit obviously) and are in the same directory
Ok, this is what I got: Usually the subs will show up, but here they won't even show up on my PC when played. Is that normal, must you use DVD Flick even to watch in Media Player?
Alright, the file names are the same. Is thee anything special I need to do with the DVD Flick settings or will it automatically recognize the subtitles?
If they don't show as being added on the main screen (by default) you can edit the project and add them that way..
Hey creaky, I did what you said and DVD Flick didn't write the tracks to the disc or the subs to the movie.. I added the subtitles like you said and then hit Create DVD to write it and it just made the movie in the output folder but without subs. I did this twice and each time DVD Flick took about 2 hours to complete. It went through the However, when it finished it gave an error message and the disc was blank. It was like Flick was getting hung up then crashing. I'm using DVD Flick 1.3.0.0 beta and my media is genuine TY which burns perfect always. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Not sure if it helps but hee's what FLICK created in the output folder:
i'm using the same version of Flick; have just started a new project and added an AVI, the .SRT subtitle file has the correct name, ie - J:\>dir ex* Volume in drive J is AVI-Dumps Directory of J:\ 27/02/2008 20:17 730,232,832 example-avi-movie.avi 26/03/2008 14:12 52,906 example-avi-movie.srt 2 File(s) 730,285,738 bytes The first pic shows that the subtitle file has been added automatically - The second pic shows that the sub is definitely attached. If it wasn't, that's the screen where you'd add the sub..
