I downloaded TMPGEnc and i couldnt even get past the first thing cuz all my files are avi and ogm and such. So what program should i use so i can author dvds that are almost any video file I choose. Or could u tell me how to get passed this? thanks. Mikke
I like TMPGEnc Plus 2.5. For $37 it's not bad and works with lots of freewares. I don't know how good Xpress 3.0 is because I don't want to buy software that stops working when the author's web site or my ISP goes away(online license verification) so I'm sticking with 2.5. You can download a trial version and see if you like it. See guides for using TMPGEnc Plus but first thing to do when you get it is open Option, then Environmental setting, then VFAPI plug-in and bump up the priority of DirectShow Multimedia File Reader. It's mentioned in the guides but I thought I'd save you some annoyance as many .avi files are kicked out with a msg about being "unsupported" when they will read okay if this option is set. Anyway, see the guides before plunging in.
