I have a collection of audio files created using Nero WaveEditor for which I want to change the title and artist name. I want the names to be permanently stored so when I make an audio selection my updated title/artist will; e.g., in the Nero Express screen (under title and under artist). In Nero WaveEditor, inside the Get Artist/Title Information screen there is a selection 'from the file information block'. Can it be changed there and, if so, where do I find that block. Thanks in advance ben
If you have saved your file to your computer you can change it by using the properties tab. Open My Computer right click on your file and the choose Properties and change the file name if you want or go to the summary and change the info. This will change its tag
Yep, buddy arniebear is right. That's how/what I usually changed the name(s) or artist(s), if I want to. Good luck!!
arniebear: Thanks for your reply. Tried what you suggested but my 'summary' panel doesn't look anything like yours?!?! (The 'general' display looks about the same.) In the 'summary' display it simply shows a heading Audio followed by 4 selections: Bit Rate Audio sample size Channels Audio sample rate And cannot 'select' the boxes preceeding these selections. I'm curious what makes mine different other than I created mine using Nero?? And why I cannot use the 'summary' panel to change artist/title?? I did find a round about method yesterday to change artist/title using Nero WaveEditor and going to the Artists/Title Information Source and selecting 'always from the file name'. Entering the desired artist/title on the file name line and re-saveing the file it picks up the artist title I want. Thanks!!!!! Ben
Your properties should look the same no matter what program you used. I have use Nero, WMP and Sound Forge to convert or save music to my HDD and have always been able to change the tag info this way. I record streamed music and usually have to change the tags after a save. What format did you save in? The setting for the bitrate, channels etc is on the bottom of the screen. Look on the screen and see if you have a box on the bottom that says simple/advanced if so click on it and see if another screen pops up.
Arniebear I am away from the computer, where the files are stored on, until Monday. I did try earlier today clicking on both simple and advanced and neither generatye the panel you show. (I am using XPpro.) At the moment I am able to obtain results saving the file twice in Nero, but would like to be able to figure how to get the method you recommend to work. I'll be in touch when I get back Monday, And thanks for the help!!!!
