I don't know how you got a rootkit installed, but format C: will get rid of it. I would advise you to steer clear of the situation that got you there. Some folks may stop in and give you some possible ways to get rid of the rootkit, but there is really only one way to get rid of it.
hi grampa, thats what i was afraid of.its nothing real sinister.i was told, alot of trial apps are doing this now so you cant just uninstall and reinstall after the 30 day period is over.ive went into the registry but it dosnt help ,it reinstalls itself.im wondering where in the pc can i find this? and how is it that it keeps reinstalling itself even though i take all the registry stuff out?.this has got me puzzled....lol...even if i reinstall the app and uninstall, the virtual drive stays in place....lmao...well i guess im going to have to live with it for now.it does hurt anything,i just like to keep everything clean....thx alot for the help
