How do I compress a JPEG picture?

    I couldn't find a specific forum for this. I'm in need of urgent help. I need to compress a picture (JPG) of my daughter from 400KB to 100KB...is this possible and if so, how can I do it for free? There is a contest and the picture has to be 100kb or smaller. The deadline is coming tonight, please somebody help...thanks.

    JPG is a compressed format. You will need to resize the image using a program such Infraview or virtually any photo editor.
