how do i connect my hp pavillion 6000 notebook with the TV screen ??

    I bought a video cable and a audio cable to connect my notebook{hp 6000}direct to the TV to watch movies from the notebook projected to the TV screen.
    Do i have to choose a 2nd monitor in DISPLAY SETTINGS and etc. ???

    It would be sooooo good if someone could help me i am really frustrated :(

    what kind of cable did you buy? what video card are you using?
