I do not need to copy the entire VCD, just the title song in the beginning, a few minutes worth (to copy it into a CD later). Is there any freeware that will allow me to do that? It's okay to include video if I have to. I am fine with either CD or VCD. I just don't need to copy the entire VCD like how I have been using Nero 5.5. Thanks for your help.
Well You are Going to have to Transfer the Whole File to your Hard drive and cut out the Part you want and then demux the file into a seperate audio and Video file ,Then you can take the Audio file and do with it what you want and delete the rest..You can"t just Copy Part of a File when the file is on a CD-R... You could try useing a Mpeg editor and Loading the Mpeg file from the CD-R/VCD into it and then trying to edit the Piece you want and save it to your Hard drive But this would Probably Be even slower and the Editor would probably crash because of the slow seeking but I suppose you can try it before extracting the whole movie...Just use the simple editor here : http://www.marumo.ne.jp/mpeg2/m2v_vfp-0.6.47.lzh In the Folder 2 programs One is Just a Mpeg codec then other file called "mme.exe" is the Editor ,Just run the Editor and go to "file" to "Open" and Navigate on to your CD-Drive with the VCD in it to a folder called something like "MpegAV" inside that Folder should be a File called "AVSEQ01.DAT" this is the Movie Just choose were you want to cut it and moove the slider there and go to "Edit" to "Cut out" and then to "File" to "save" and it will cut that part out for you..If it doesn"t work you will have to drag the AVSEQ01.DAT File to your desktop and edit it there...Cheers
