I have Nero Ultra 7 Edition and went through the process of upgrading to the Enhanced version. Now when I try to check the version number and go to "about" I get the following error: "Transparency is temporarily disabled because an application that uses DirectX or 3D hardware features is currently running". I don't have a clue as to what is running so is there a way to correct this? If so, how? If not, what do I do about it? I get this error with all the applications that came with Nero. This started after I installed InCD. Before I did that, it was working and was showing the Enhanced version. Thank you for your time.

As far as I know, the two versions to which you refer are the same basic version, just depending from where you download them. If you are in the US, the version is Ultra. Other places, it is Enhanced, but it is the same program.

If you say it only started after installing InCD, try removing it--most folks don't install it anyway, that is why it is not added by default during the install.

I am in the US. When it was working, it showed Enhanced as the version. I uninstalled InCD and that didn't change anything. I'm still getting the same error. Thanks for trying.

What utility are you checking the version number in? I checked mine in Nero Burning ROM and it seemed to work correctly. As a note, when I tried to update from 7.5.7.0 to 7.5.9.0, I got an installer error using the Product Setup to upgrade. It might have been because the download did not work right, but I don't know. I then used the clean tools to remove the old version and installed again.

They have updated the latest 2 versions to work with Windows Vista, so some errors might be creeping in concerning XP.

I used Nero Home, Nero Express, etc. I really tried them all. I would go to the top of the left windows and click, then go down to the Nero Option menu and click on about this app. Just a few days ago, when I would do this it would display Nero Ultra Enhanced and then give the version number. It doesn't make sense as to why it stopped and why it doesn't work now. Thanks for your time.

I don't have Nero Home, so let's concentrate on Nero Express.

To get info on the program, I click on the question mark at the bottom left. Then select "About Nero Express" and the version comes up, but does not mention Ultra or Enhanced.

I don't think I can duplicate your problem, and might suggest you uninstall using the clean tools for Version 7 and 6 if you ever had that installed, and then reinstall. You may have some type of conflict.

Are you running this in Vista?

No, I'm not using Vista. I'm using Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. Maybe I should just keep a log of the version I have currently installed until I do have to uninstall, etc. If everything else works fine, I may just wait until it gives me more problems and then do a clean installation but thank you for your time and help!
