    Hi all,

Was wondering if someone could quickly explain to me how I can burn a DVD from a folder that looks like this:

These files are all in a VIDEO_TS folder. I have DVD Decryptor and Nero

    Thanks in advance

    Hmmm,

photobucket is screwing up and won't show the pic, it won't allow access to it either. In any case it's a VIDEO_TS folder with several .VOB files, 2 .BUP files, and 2 .IFO files.

    Hope someone has the answer.

    Thanks

I think I have figured it out faster than I anticipated! I am using a program called Folder2iso to create what I need. Hopefully I am on the right track.

Dude, just load Nero, choose DVD Video from the compilation drop down, press "new", drag all the files from this folder into the RED video_ts folder in Nero, and burn.

OK instead of creating a new thread i think i should write about my problem here. i just have some Windows Media Audio/Video files (i think the files are .wmv). anyways, i wanna burn them and create a DVD-video. now obviously i don't have the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files. now my main question is, how do i get them? Will the Folder2iso program, mentioned above, do this for me? i just need to convert the .wmv files into AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. then i can just use nero and burn them. (i know that much). i also wanted to know that can i convert other video files like .avi and other video formats into audio_ts and video_ts folders and still be able to use nero and create a DVD-video DVD? any help is appreciated!

    baqir,

You don't need to do any prior conversions for using Nero. Just use Nero, select 'Add Video Files', it'll allow you to select any format video files (.wmv .avi etc) it'll ask you to create a menu screen and then it'll convert everything for you and burn the disc. Be advised the conversion and burning process can take awhile, on my comp. it takes over 5 hrs because of the converting.

I converted many different files to fit a full DVD with ConvertxtoDVd and it was fast and easy..... took only a hour or so!! Not more than 1 1/2!!! I love it.... so you can use Nero if you like... I'll stick to VSO software!

    IHoe,

I just tried out your program for the first time and must say that I do find it much faster and actually a bit simpler to use as well. Sure you can create animated menu's etc with Nero, but who cares when you just want to get the video onto your DVD. The only thing I am curious about is in the settings for CovertXtoDVD there is an option for quality of encoding and by default it is set to Medium. If you put that quality to High encoding will this lengthen the process considerably? Can you notice the difference between the two on this program? With Nero, I can't recall anywhere where it asks me in the settings for encoding quality so I am assuming it is always high which might explain why it takes so many hours to create a DVD with Nero.

Anyone have an answer to my previous question?

"The only thing I am curious about is in the settings for CovertXtoDVD there is an option for quality of encoding and by default it is set to Medium. Also is there anything wrong with tasking on the comp while encoding is taking place (browsing internet, viewing files, etc)

    Thanks

I have used this program a lot lately. I have not had any problem with multi tasking on the computer when converting files with convertxtodvd. Be aware though the more tasking you do will slow the conversion down a little, sometimes a lot depending on what you do. Regarding the settings. I always use medium and it works just fine. I did read on a review somewhere that the difference between medium and high is so very little in time and quality. All advice I have seen around points to sticking with the medium.

Slowing the conversion process down is fine as long as it is not damaging the video at all. So I can assume it doesn't do that correct? Thanks for the info. So not much difference between med and high for both quality and time. Guess I'll just stick to medium. Also, after the conversion and when it's time to burn it won't do that part automatically. I get a little window prompt that says "evaluation version" and I click ok and then it continues on with the actual burn process. Not sure why this happens, it should be the full version.

Slowing down the conversion should not damage the video at all. Did you download the latest version when you purchased and then used the key to make it full version. If you are still using trial version it shoul have a watermark in the final video. Is that still there?

No, there is no watermark in the DVD picture. I have version 2.0.8 I find it weird that I get that window prompt stating that. I would like it to just continue on with the burning process as soon as the encoding is done, and that's how I have it set up in the settings.

The only other suggestion I have is to uninstall then reinstall either the same version or preferably the latest version then see if that changes anything. Otherwise I am stumped. Maybe some of the more experienced users can help out a little more.

    Problem solved!

I uninstalled and re-installed the latest version. Now I can start a process and come back with the DVD burned and completed!

Great program, much better and simpler than Nero which I have been using for a long time now.
