thinking of replacing a processor and not sure how to tell how big of a processor a board will handle. New to this so any help would be appreciated, thank you
if you mean how big of the processor as the amount of speed, i dont think theres a limit to how many ghz you can have that limits it. but you need the correct type of processor. you can find out by doing diagnostic tests and such with programs like everest to see that specs you have.
Old boards have limits on the mhz speed of CPUs you install, newer ones are typically only limited to certain types, FSB speeds and so on. Which motherboard do you have and which CPU do you want to install?
