how do i download new soft ware on my starview the box

hi i am new to this site can anyone help me i currently have a the box and it went down as everyone elses in the country did i have a rs323 cable i plugged it in back of pc and into bak of the box turned box on as it states double click the red arrow and it does not start downloading after a couple of seconds it says error in downloading do i need some other thing to put on pc to get this going plese can anyone help me cheers brian
