Does anyone know how to download from links that connect to the BBC radio player? These files are not Real media amd Streambox has no rtsp:\\ to use. "Save target as..." on the link produces .htm files which contain the insdtruction below. Any advice gratefully received. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head lang="en"> <title>BBC Radio Player - Radio 2</title> <script src="/radio/aod/javascript/framescheck.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <meta name="robots" content="noindex" /> </head> <frameset cols="272,*" framespacing="0" frameborder="no" border="0"> <frame name="bbcplayer" title="Audio controls and information." src="/radio/aod/networks/radio2/aod.shtml?radio2/r2_parsonsnaylor" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0" /> <frameset rows="40,*" framespacing="0" frameborder="no" border="0"> <frame name="dropnav" title="Navigate to other radio stations or types of music." src="/radio/aod/static/dropnav.shtml" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0" /> <frame name="channel" title="Choose something to listen to." src="/radio/aod/networks/radio2/channel.shtml" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" /> </frameset> </frameset> <noframes> <body><a href="/radio/aod/networks/radio2/audiolist.shtml">No frames version</a></body> </noframes> </html>

I have tried this many times & still cant get it to work i am right clicking on the links and save as then opening with notepad but i cant find the stream url in the text am i looking in the right place i'm a bit new to all this and could really do with some help
Hi Keefs Yeah, it is difficult - the link Veblin posted - http://p084.ezboard.com/bstreemeboxvcr - has loads of info - serach for BBC. I've tried following the instructions, but all examples seem to make an unexplained leap that I can't follow - if you can figure it out step by step please post it here. If you're interested, the easiest method for BBC links seems to be: 1. "Save target as" on the link 2. Open the resulting htm file with note pad. Scan thru until you find the program identifier/partial url (in my case: radio2/aod.shtml?radio2/r2_parsonsnaylor) 3. Prerfix the last part with: rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/ e.g. rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio2/r2_parsonsnaylor.ra I tried this on few options and it seems to world fine with streambox. Good luck
i got it working after a few goes now all i need to do is convert the rm files to mp3 does anyone know the best pro for doing this
Streambox VCR Suite http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_capture_tools/streambox_vcr_suite.cfm Don't let the VCR part fool you - it has two parts - a download manager for real meadi streams and a ripper/converter. Do you want to share the secret of extracting the rtsp:\\ address?
Good. At least someone read something. You could take the time to learn how to manually get the stream URL's. A very good and needed skill. I do it all the time, just to stay good at it. Or you could use a very easy way, something like Project URL Snooper.
Thanks for the help got it all working with the bcc radio player but i cant get it to work with the kiss100 radio player does anyone know how to do this the
I've just spent some time trying all the options that Veblin has suggested, and I've firmly established that I haven't got a clue how to downloaed from Kiss. But I'm very interested to see what the solution is. Veblin? Incidently Keefs, if you've downloaded Streambox you might want to look at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/65016 for some advice on Realplayer10/codecs. It should save you some agrovation.
I got the codecs sorted i read about them before no luck with the kiss player dont think i'm goin to figure it out.
