    As long as your dvd burner is up to date with its latest firmware, then it's safe to go with Taiyo Yuden (including both FUJI & SONY "Made In Japan"), MAXELL "Made In Japan" (manufactured by Hitachi -- a top notch media in the same class as YUDEN, in my opinion) and Verbatim (another high quality media).

    If you were able to use your burner before having to send it in for repairs, just look at the disc your previously burned with it.

    Just open Decrypter if you have it, and go into Tools, drive and capabilities and see what format your burner will do. Then get some decent media as suggested.

    Hi there,

    VSO Inspector v1.1 --> http://www.vso-software.fr/

    Is also an other great little tool that will tell you everything you need to know about your burner, will tell you the Media ID of your blank media, and can do a Sector Scan / File Scan to verify if your burned medias are 100% readable !

    My 2 cents...
