I have a VOB with low level audio, I've also converted this to an mpeg and it also has low level. What prog do I use to raise the sound please?
it looks like you may need to demux the sound track from the video track. Hunt around for a tool that allows the sound track to be demuxed. I can not be sure as I have never done this but I think Gordian Knot allows this function. Once you have done this, you will need a sound editing program (I use Goldwave) to boost the entire sound track. Once you have done this, you need to use the software to mux the different substreams of sound and video back together into a format that carries both like MPEG. This is the rough outline of your plan of attack. Be warned that once you start to play around with this sort of thing, you run a very good chance of losing sync in the final output. Ie. the actions on screen maynot be in time to the sounds that belong to them. Good luck
The other program to try is TMPGEnc. I think it has the ability to mux and demux a single video stream into seperate sub streams.
