how do i ftp?????????

my budy has a softmodded xbox and wants to copy the dvd games over to the computer hard drive and them play them on the xbox of the computer hard drive no that that is possable but i do not know how

 

Why don't you just upgrade the Xbox HDD...

I have no idea what your even asking. but here goes nothing
1. yes you can play games from the Xbox hard drive. But it is very small so upgrading it to a larger one is really needed.
2. No, you can not play xbox games from the PC hard drive with an Xbox
3. to get the game on the xbox hard drive you first need either a program called DVD2Xbox to copy it from the disc, or learn how to FTP.

 

can u play burned copys of the games and play them of a softmodded xbox

 

Copied games will run on a Softmodded Xbox, that's the point.

 

to ftp you can use windows explorer(easy route i think) and type in the link ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx < ip your folders/files should come up then you just need to place the game in the right directory.

 

ok now i know u half to create an image of the game then ftp them over to your computer and then burn. can u copy derecly from the game to the computer or do u half to put it on the xbox hard drive then copy im sorta new at this my frind has a modded xbox with 120 GB hard drive but the one i am useing is just softmodded it has one game on the small hard drive and i do not know how to get them on. i know a lot about the psp makeing a iso/cso image of a game on to memery card and putting on computer to store them. staying on topic i basiclly half to start from scrach.

 

why not just load the game directly on the computer?

The process is simple.

You place the game you want in the DVD drive of the Xbox. Open an FTP channel, copy all the files from the Xbox's D:\ to the PC. You then need to compress the files into an ISO with software like QUIX and then burn the ISO image with Nero.

You can then play the copied game from your Xbox with the newly created DVD.

If the game you are copying is already a backup, then you can just copy the disc as normal on your PC!

You CAN NOT have the game files on the PC and run that game via the network!

now after i ftp what do i do to copy the game to disk

 

you use a program like Qwix or Craxtion4 and turn the folder you FTP'ed into an ISO file
then you burn it to a disc with something like IMGburn which works great.
