I was finally able to download the shrink by changing my security settings and it went through all the decoding and everything and it still says my dvd is copy protected. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Do I have to have NERO to allow it to work?
Sometimes you get this error/respose (copy protection error) from shrink if you run shrink first before you insert the DVD in the drive. To avoid this just insert the DVD first, let the OS recognize it and then play it for a few seconds with media player. Stop playback then run shrink to get you backup. If your still having problems with getting your backup, try getting anydvd and using it with shrink. Shrink alone can't handle the copy protection being placed on some of the new releases so it needs a little help, that's where anydvd comes in. It's also worth remembering that DVDShrink doesn't actually burn discs' it will however burn with nero or DVDdecrypter. There a lot of guides how to set it up, have a browse around the site. good luck g
