    Hey,
my main problem is that I try to burn my files on a dvd and play them. Problem is my dvd keeps saying that they are blank. My DVD player also plays Divx, so if someone can tell me how to convert them over, that should probably do the job.

    my Programs are:
    Virtual Dub
    TMPGEnc
    Free Easy burner.

Files for DVD, both are the same movie
    1 .avi file
    1. mpg file

Quick question about TMPG- How does it convert videos into Divx? If I have to save it as AVI.

To convert your avi to an mpeg-2 DVD, use something like
    DVD Flick or AVStoDVD.

Isn't an MPG the same as MPEG?

Yes, when it comes to file extension, mpg/mpeg/mpe is all about the same. However, it could be mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. The DVD video is mpeg-2, but if it is not encoded using DVD parameters, it needs to be re-encoded in order to put it in a DVD compilation.

In Tmpgenc, you'll find a way to save to AVI under
    file/output to file.

You're opening post is ambiguous. You mention your player can
play DIVX, but then you seem to be asking for help to
    "convert them over".

Convert what over? What is your source ?
