Could you please tell me how I can revert back to Windows 7 after installing Windows 10. This computer had Windows 7 before installing 10.

Not really. Windows 10 won't let you go back so, unless you backed up your hard drive, before installing that phablet OS, then you are screwed lewd, and tattoed. Format C:\ will work just fine, unless you don't have the actual programs that were on your computer.

You can get the win 7 start menu look in win 10 by installing classicshell,it'll make win 10 more bearable. For pictures i use fastone image viewer, there's an install version as well as portable

there is,in my opinion,no logical reason to go from win10 back to win7.as a former windows7 user,i have had no problems adapting to win10.it is as easy,or easier to navigate than windows 7,and marginally faster as well.what are your concerns with windows10?

Laptop is Acer Aspire 5250. Windows 7 had Recovery Partition. I think it is called an OEM installation by Acer.

    Thank you

I am lost with this one! If you format the C: drive, wouldn't it wipe out everything there and just leave that partition empty, instead of getting back Windows 7?

You have to have the Windows 7 disc and install it on the empty partition.

The recovery partition is gone! Nothing from the previous installation is available.

I am using my sister's laptop with Windows 7-identical-Acer Aspire 5250. Both of us bought this same model, about the same time 5 years ago. She blocked Windows 10 from her laptop by disabling automatic updates. She has always been smarter than me  My laptop that I am asking for help to revert to Win 7, installed Win 10 when my back was turned. One day I went to have a cup of tea leaving the laptop ON. When I came back I found Window 10 already installed! Stupidly, I had left automatic updates enabled. That's my predicament.

being hers is identical to yours then you can use hers to make win7 recovery disks to put onto your. it will not copy her data just makes a new clean win 7 disks.
Create the recovery disk in Windows 7
    1. Boot your computer. ...
    2. Go to Start and find the “Acer” folder in All Programs. ...
    3. Click on Acer eRecovery Management. ...
    4. Click Yes, if Windows UAC dialog opens and asks permission to run the software.
    5. Click Backup.
    6. Click Create Factory Default Disc. ...
    7. Insert the first DVD.
    Restore instructions for Windows 7
You can restore your Windows 7 using your saved sets of Acer recovery disks by following these instructions:
    boot the computer.
    1. Press F12 repeatedly to enter the Boot menu.
    2. Select your optical drive, e.g. IDE CD-ROM Device, by using your arrow keys: ↑ and ↓.
    3. Add the first disk from your recovery disks set.
    4. Hit Enter.
    5. Your Acer recovery media should load.
    6. Follow the wizard instructions to reinstall your Windows 7.

Thank you. Just one little point. Wouldn't there be a problem with updates when using Windows 7 with the same product key on both laptops?

there should be a label for the windows product key on your laptop either top or bottom side, use that.
