How do i hack my new ipod?

    is the newest ipod nano in town considered to be a fifth generation ipod
    i want to install themes, and was reading the sticky on modding my ipod, but is that thing up to date, the ipod update or whatever it was was from 2005, if anyone could point me in the right dierection or anything please help!!!

    It is quite up to date :) The only difference now is that Apple recently changed how you update your iPod making it a tad trickier to edit the firmware. I still use the 1.0 firmware, which you can find here:

    Only downside is you can't dim the backlight, and no gapless playback. There is a list of themes for the iPod here which you might find useful:

    If you want to use the most recent firmware, just search through the last few pages of the guide.

    You can't turn the backlight off? The nattery must not last very long. if so.

    You can turn it off, you just can't select how bright you would like it to be. The backlight timer and off settings are still intact.

    do you mean that you cant select "off" in the settings for backlight? so it must be on for say a minimum of 5 secs.

    or that it is constantly on?
