I am about to build my 3rd PC (note this post: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/720675). The 1st two were AMD...they've been rock solid. This has produced some loyalty. I am pretty sure that I want to go with AMD for this one. My big question is which chip to go with? I am looking to balance "bang" and "buck". Honestly, I don't mind spending a little extra cash but I don't need the system that could land the space shuttle while it balances my books. Of course historically I could just look at the numbers in the chips name and figure out which one was faster but those days are long gone. Is there is a resource/benchmark that compares the AMD chips? That would be cool (it would be even cooler if it compared them alongside Intel's stuff).

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like AMD's AM3 chipsets are coming out in January as well, probably would be a good idea to sit on a new AMD build until after the holidays.
