I have a 42 inch Samsung Plasma TV hooked up to my Powermac g5. I'm using the tv as my monitor. I'm too close to the screen, the desktop and display is too big for me at this distance. Is there a way I could shrink the screen size within the plasma display? I already googled this and got a lot of responses to hold the control key down and scroll down to reduce the magnification; not looking to do that. I'm looking to have the screen smaller where there will be a black border around it, right now my desktop screen reaches the edges of the tv. I want to view my desktop as a 20" wide screen as opposed to a 42" wide on my 42" wide plasma. I can re-iterate my question if it doesn't make sense. Just ask, thanks!
Sorry should have mentioned that I already done that. I adjusted my resolutions several times. Im trying to reduce the scale of the rectangular display.
cant on a g5 sorry the size it gives you is the max the graphics card can go it's not dependent on your screen like windows
you cant reduce the size if the monitor cannot use the size because the graphics card in the power mac g5 not intel mac key word there only goes to a max resolution of 1240x1100 and the tv goes higher then that you are basically not going to get any smaller the graphics card cant handle it
Go to System Preferences +Universal Access+ pane Seeing tab. Where is says Zoom, turn it OFF. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2070204?threadID=2070204 http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107319 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1255604?threadID=1255604 http://support.apple.com/kb/TA21610?viewlocale=en_US
When you use a TV as your laptop monitor, you'll not be proud of the dimensions of the icons displayed on...
