    Hi,

I have not used my WII in about a year. It is a soft modded 4.2u. I would like to play the latest games, but I am not sure how. I have done some reading but there is so much info out there, with so many different variables.

Also, my backups have to be booted from a Externall HDD.

I have read that it is pointless to update to 4.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Most new games can be played without updating, however it really depends on which game you are trying to use, each game has a specific fix. Some gams won't even present a problem unless they need to have their IOS installed. There are different methods for different games. Are there any particular games you're having trouble with?

Well, I bought WII Sports Resort ripped it to my HDD and it will not load.

I want to get the new Super Mario All Stars, and the new Donkey Kong as well. Last but not least Just Dance 2 for the wife.

I have a nice page booked marked for ps3 backup compatibility, maybe there is something out there like that for the WII -- I'm still searching :p

Hmmm ... Suspended due to non-functional e-mail address, that stinks, I wounder what email I used, that was years ago! Kinda sad to loose that though, I've been a member for YEARS!

    Anyways...

BOTH of you, thanks for the help. I have bookmarked that link! Looks like it will def. come in handy. Now I need to clear up the brain fog; I think I remember installing CIOS w/ WAD Installer or something. Also, if I remember correctly I had a program that could download them directly via wifi on my WII. But, I am not asking you guys to hold my hand that much!! I'll do some more research, and start playing around the WII again. Thanks guys! You are awesome!
