For wmp install directvobsub (VSFilter) or enable subs in ffdshow and use that to decode.

Don't do it, please. FFDShow modifies your Windows' DirectShow and caused my lot of problems. I had to uninstall it and to find a progam which restors DirectShow, deleting also manually any left references pointing to C:\PROGRAMS\FFDSHOW, left even if I un-installed it. ( http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multim...-Video-Codecs/DirectShow-Filter-Manager.shtml ). DirectVobSub is used also by VobSub, which forces TMPGenc to encode AVI -> MPG with permanent subtitles encoded on it.

If you just need to view the subtitles playing the movie on your PC, just download BSPlayer. After loading the movie, load the subtitle by pressing the right button (the 2nd at the right of the screen). Nothing easier (if the subtitle is in-sync with the movie).

Or name 'My_movie.srt' the subtitles and put it in the same direcory of My_movie.AVI/MPG. Then open it with WMP.
