Hello..This is my first posting here ever and I'll try to be as clear and concise as I can. I have a few avi files that I want to put on DVD-Rs. I am just starting to get used to the whole conversion process and I can usually find answers in the forum, but the problem that I am having at the moment is that whenever I convert 16:9 avi files using TMPGEnc, they don't stay 16:9 and they seem to be 4:3 mode. It is still watchable but everything looks a little skinnier and longer and so on. I've tried messing around with different setting and so far...no success. Also, I want to keep the mpg files small enough where I can put more than one episode of TV shows. There must be a way to adjust this so that when I play the finished mpg file, it would be in 16:9 mode. Hope all that makes sense. Thanks for your help in advance.

Try this. In Wizard( Page 3-Other Settings) or under settings on Main Screen > Advanced > Video Arrange Method - select Full screen (keep aspect ratio). I encoded as 16.9 because the letterboxing was smaller but not sure on 4.3 or 16.9.
