I have a jailbroken iphone and everytime I sync with itunes it removes my applications that I acquired using installous. I never had this problem before. Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Not too sure if it makes much difference but I have my iPod Touch jailbroken and I have shed load of 3rd party apps and sync regularly with iTunes without probs. I did buy a 3G but took it back after 12 hours 'cos I couldn't unlock due to 2.30 baseband and didn't want to wait!!!

If I understand your request properly, you can avoid to erase your 3rd party apps when syncing as per the following:

    1. In iTunes, plug your iPod and uncheck 'automatically sync'

    2. Then in the Apps tab, uncheck 'Sync apps' as well

    3. That's about it

If you are still having issues with iTunes, you will probably want to have a look at some free iTunes alternative such as CTManager

mine syncs the apps I got through installous. Did you change the setting within installous to allow it to do so?
