I am portuguese and in my country subtitles make all the diference.
So i need to rip out a DVD9 into a DVD5 and keep the subtitles and the menus.
How can i do that ? Is that possible ?

I just need one more thing. How do i get my backup movies to work in a home DVD player?

What you need to do is download DVD Decrypter and change the ripping mode to IFO then enable stream processing and check the streams you would like to keep. In your example check or uncheck the subtitles you want to keep! In order to backup your movies to play on a standalone DVD player you need to create an image of your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and use Nero to burn. But before you even think about transferring a D9 movie to a D5 dvd-r you will need to re-encode the video file that you demuxed in DVD Decrypter. One minor note, you need to have Windows 2000 with an NTFS file system if you plan to use this method because your demuxed video stream will be over 3.99 MB which is the limit on a FAT32 partition. Your audio stream at the most is usually no more than 450MB-500MB.

I have just recorder a dvd that i have compiled with spruce DVD maestro. I have put there subtitles, but they do not apear on the movie. I think i did everything right, but im not sure.

Once i have tried to record a dvd movie with DVDXCopy, but the backup copy didn't work on my home DVD system.
Can you tell me why is that ???
