I have a non-wireless printer attached to my desktop computer which in turn is connected to my wireless router. How do I set up a network so I can print from my laptop wirelessly?

Go to your printers/faxes window on the desktop. Right click and choose sharing. There is likely to be a hyperlink stating something like " If you understand sharings risks..." click that and name your printer. Then go to your laptop and go to add printer under printers/faxes windows. Choose the add network printer option and then there should be network search option, choose that. Find the printer, finish the prompts and you should be good to go. You may get a drivers compatibility window pop-up, just click OK, you shouldn't need any additional drivers on the laptop as it will automatically use a generic Windows driver.

If remote access is turned off on the desktop you may have to setup sharing the printer by using the network wizard, it will do the same thing.

Also, keep in mind that you can only use the printer from laptop if the desktop is turned on, otherwise it won't find the printer. Hope this helps, hit me back if run into any snags.
