hey i was wondering can i split a 700 mb avi movie into two files cuz i want to burn that movie into a dvd but the dvd capacity is only 120 min. lol......is there a program to split a movie file can sum1 help...
First off, a dvd has a storage space of 4.7 gigabytes, so that one little .avi will fit on it easily. If you burn it onto that dvd, however, it won't work in a normal dvd player *unless the dvd player supports avi and divx/xvid playback*, so you'll most likely need to convert it to dvd format. We have forums on this subject and guides that teach you how to do this, so i suggest you look around a bit and ask questions if needed.
An avi will not always fit on a DVD after the conversion. Sometimes, you have to lower bitrate for it to fit. Look in the software section of this site for a program named J-Fuse. It's only a trial but, it will split and combine files(I think 7 files and the trial ends). Don't like that one? Search Google for "split avi", you'll come up with a couple of pages of software for splitting avi's.
but i still wanna know....is there a program that can split a big file....lol and r u sure that a 700 mb video thats 1 hour and thirty minutes be able to fit in a 120 min. dvd......lol a lil confused....the dvd says 4.7 gb but only 120 min. video......a 120 min. dvd can still hold a 130 min. video after a conversion to a dvd file right.....lol sum1 help
