how do i tell if i have PCI E ????????????????????????????/

    i wanna buy an ati x1600 pro with 512mb memory but i dont know if i havea pci e or just pci my computer is only at the most 5 months old but its a budget pc HP with a 3.06 ghz processor it came with a complete shit video card an intel 82845g/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller.

    its wierd because my video card is a different spot then where i would install a new card , so im thinkin maybe my video card is pci but my pc supports pci

    ive read places that most newish pcs support pci e but im not sure because its budget HP

    plz help me out

    is it worth buying a new motherboard and how much would that cost?

    motherboard has to be Micro-ATX form factor, 9.6 in x 8.6 in. checkout asus boards that has socket 478 for cpu to see if have pci/e versions.
