i recently recieved a dvd camcorder from club live (game site) -- samsung sc-dx103. and it has no firewire. it came with this little usb cord and the only other way i can think of is putting the mini dvd into my computer. When people say capturing videos from camcorders do they mean that they play the actual video on the camcorder and the pc just copies it? like does capturing mean that the pc just copies whats happening on the camcorder screen? someone please explain to me the concept of CAPTURING. what is it?!?!

Finalize the disc, in the video camcorder. Put the disc in your computer's DVD burner, then copy the files to a new folder on your computer.

Then, bring the .vob files into a program like Roxio or N-e-r-o, do all the editing you want, and burn to a DVD.

I have no clue what software came with your free camcorder, but maybe it will work too.
