I'm hoping you followed the softmod instructions correctly. You should have made an M$ Dash Backup. If you did, all you ahve to do is load up your linux installer and do restore ms backup. It might not be that exact for you since there are many installers, but if you used SID, then thats what you would do and I'm sure its very similar for other installers. Then you should be clean of your softmod. That doesnt mean if you have modded maps on your hdd, that they would magically disappear. I would delete them if you have modded maps on it, and then either re/dl them or place "clean" maps back on your hdd.
