how do stop Google toolbar auto updates?

    theres no option to stop it and the new toolbar is horrible. ANyone know a FIXED version of the toolbar i could use? i hate having a toolbar checking for updates and installing stuff without my notice.

    Uninstall it.

    You could filter 216.239.32.0/19 and 66.102.0.0/20 in your firewall or routing tables, though that'll block Google itself - which may be a good thing from a security viewpoint. Otherwise, uninstall it.
