How do u get a DAT file to MPEG?

    hi i used, vcdgear and it made like 500 files, so i deleted them.. how do i get the dat to a mpeg? can sum1 plz help me?

    Just rename .dat to .mpg; it works for me

    I tried renaming them and it doesn't work. It won't let me rename. How did you go about renaming them??? Is there a software program to convert .dat files??? Any help would be nice. Thanks.

    download vcd easy from www.vcdeasy.org then install it run the program and look for TOOLS icon on the left hand side once open select mpeg tools, at the bottom look for cdxa2mpeg, browse for the dat file then set the output file, then hit convert, job done :)
