Benn backing up my movies now for quite a few years now. Thanks to ALL the Awesome members here at AD , have learned a lot.

Now Here's something new that I want to try out. I have a Philips Up-Scaling DVD Player (DVP5982/37). It has a USB port in the front of it. I want to be able to back up a movie from a DVD onto a Flash Drive so that I can view it on my DVD player. Can this be done ????

Softwares I have on my PC are Nero Recode , CloneDVD ,AnyDVD , DVDShrink & IMGBurn.

Which of the software's that I have, can I achieve this with ???

I have the same player but never tried that. I've done it with jpg's and avi's. Just copy the VIDEO_TS folder and try it out. Let me know if it works. it takes some time to read the avi files. If it does work it might take a long time to read the files before it plays.

You just copy the VIDEO_TS folder to the stick and then put it in the slot in the front of the player.
When you put the stick in, it will automatically start to read it. If it doesn't switch to USB, press the USB button on the remote. I have to get the manual out to see exactly what the usb will read. I have heard that some people have had luck hooking a hard drive to it as long as it's formatted to FAT32.
