I first must say sorry because I am a total newbie but have begun reading a lot of Nfo on how to mod the xbox. i have ordered the matrix chip and got the bios flash for it (EvolutionX_beta_V1.8.3285). How do I save the original dashboard thats on the system now and how do I make a boot cd that will place nesscary files on the hard disk to boot of the hard drive not from a floppy in the future. I also have the EvoX.D.6.red and EvoX.D.6.blue files as well. Basically I want to run games from the harddrive in the future and eventually upgrade to a bigger hard drive. Sorry for asking alot of question but people on this board seem very knowledgeable of this.

    Thank you in advance.

you need a iso copy of evo-x and burn it to CD-RW.

it will boot to evo-x, then you go to a ftp program and access your xbox through the xbox ip.

once you have done that, you can transfer files between xbox and your pc.

Then you can backup all of the files on ur xbox to ur pc. By copying all the files, ur backing up ur dashboard and all the system files in the xbox.

Evo-X is a dash board program that installs into ur xbox hd not the mod chip bios.

when u are refering to the red and blue files, those are different bios for your chip.

I would recommend using the same bios as the original chip for easy installation. If you have xecuter chip, there is no need for you to change the bios....the standard factory bios will work fine. I actually prefer X2 bios than the Evo bios.

In order to make a ISO file, you will need to download xISO to make a ISO image of the evo-x directory....once u made a ISO image, then burn it to disk.

Or you can just find a ISO image of evo-x and burn it directly....this is easier, but finding a ISO image is hard if you dont know where to look.

Ya the chip I am getting is the matrix, just because I am not to good a soldering. I know this is has no bios so thats why I am concerned.

Well from the evo file I have already I think I can make a iso out of that. I just need that other prog your tlaking about.

There is more than one download link on the web page for craxton. The second download is below and you must unzip that in the craxtion install directory, then the program will work. Not sure why they did this, I think it was for legal reasons, who knows.

    WOW, I REALLY NEED HELP,
I installed an Xecuter 2.3b lite chip. When i turn my xbox on w/ it enabled the 2 blue LED's come on, the tray ejects for me to flash it and everything but the discs i put in dont work. This was frustraing cause i used DVD's and RW's, several times over. I began to get fed up and i turned my chip off and went to play a game under the normal xbox boot. Well, the Xbox logo came up, and i put my game in, but....nothing, all that comes up now is "needs service, contanct microsoft", this now leads me to believe that the discs i were using were good discs, and the problem was somewhere else in the xbox. I do not think that the chip is installed wrong because the lights come on, and the tray ejects like its supposed to when its enabled. Could the be a DVD rom problem? somewhere there is a Read problem...but where??!?!!? If any1 has a suggestion i would love to know, thanks

have you tried reinstalling the factory stuff from a slayers 2.5 disc? That might help narrow it down if you can get slayers to setup up the factory dashboard again. Slayers can also install evox and all the apps to your box.

    simon,

it sounds like you havnt even flashed the chip yet, you need to do that first then install evox.
