what programs have you used? and have you gone to the usser guide part of the forum to get help on how to use them?

there are manly 3 steps you need to do.

Decrypt the copy protection off the DVD so it can be burned.

    Decryption programs:
DVD Decryptor-free but not updated anymore
AnyDVD-trial version 30bucks to buy after trial
and there are some others but them are the main programs.

Recoding the DVD to fit onto a DVD5 disc.
    recoding programs:
DVD Shrink-free but not updated anymore
Nero Recode 2-comes with nero ultra edition.
DVDFab easy interface to copy and recode DVD backups

    Last step burrning the program.
    Nero
    DVD Decryptor
    DVD Shrink with nero combo

do some searching for guides and try to find a program that seems to be easy for you to work with.

DVD Shrink will rip and encode/compress but will not burn for that you need either DVD Decrypter or Nero or another burning program. Also, DVD Shrink cannot rip newer movies with newer protections you will have to use DVD Decrypter or DVD Fab Decrypter. Go here for all the guides you need for several different programs.

If you want a good 1 click program DVDFab is easy to use the only thing I dont know how good DVDfab Decrypts so you might need to get DVD Decrypter to rip the DVDs to your hard drive but the downside to that is that program is no longer updated so your best bet is to get AnyDVD and run it in the background. I havent had a movie yet that AnyDVD couldnt handle.

There are still 1click programs available, but they are pay programs. You can try DVD FabExpress which is very similiar to DVDXcopy, and will rip the newer protections, it has a 30 day trial period. It is available at

    http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-fab-platinum.htm

You can also try AnyDVD which is a driver that works in the background and CloneDVD which rips/encodes and burns. Has a 21 day free trial. It is available at

You can try over at the Xcopy forum for a patch that will remove the Backup screen.

    http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/

Or go with the software listed above, which does not have that. If you really are into 1click copy programs you can try the 30 day trial version of DVD Fab Express, it works very similiarly to Xcopy, and does newer encryptions. There is no backup screen with this program

    @pezza187

Most programs you get with your DVD burrner is uasly an OEM version and dosent have the options to backup DVD protected movies. In some way you need a decryptor program to get past the copyprotection example: "DVD Decryptor" "AnyDVD" and some 1 click programs do the decryption itself. Example DVD FabDVD.

You also need a program that will compress a DVD9 DVD (dual Layer) onto a DVD5 DVD (single layer)if your going to copy it to the DVD5 media Example "DVD Shrink" "nero Recode2"

But even with the 1 click programs you cant do 100% of the copy protection out there. But AnyDVD is updated regularly and DVD Decryptor is a good program but isnt updated anymore.

So saying this I would sugest you search and learn about diffrent programs and what they do before giving advice out that really isnt true.

Most of the programs that I have stated above are free programs or programs you have to buy online. Not at your local computer store.

    pezza187,
Now he gave you good advice and your language is not acceptable here. Suggest you change it before the mods see it or you could be gone for good

    pezza187,
Not all burners come w/ software and w/ the free programs out there some of them are far superior to some of the pay programs. Thanks for changing your statement

As you can see above I said most programs not all programs. I have Nero Recode2 that will compress the DVD down with my burrning software but still need DVD Decryptor or AnyDVD to rip the copyprotection off it.

But to say most do and not tell that you need a program that will rip the copy protection off is just missleading people and thats why i felt I had to correct you and ask you to give them more information so they dont spend hours and hours trying to use their burrning software they got from thier burrner and get no where cause of the advice you gave them.

Its good to help others but put more into it the more the information the better chances of helping others.

That also goes to others asking the question. Search before you post. If the guy that started the thread would have just serched the forum he would have found his answers without having to post this question but the day I answered it I was feeling in a givefull mood uasly id tell them to search.

Use AnyDVD, DVDDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter
