    Hi.

Prob1: How do you burn large dvd movies onto standard size dvd blank disc?

Can you take out the movie menu (etc) and just have the movie files burnt onto the blank dvd? I use DVD Decrypter and i have the DVD43 and Patin-Cauffin which work perfectly.

Prob2: My dvd burner is 4x speed burner and uses "+" format and i use "+" formatted discs. I have blank dvd+r disc which are 1-2.4x and when i burn movies and play back, no dvd machine or dvd rom drive reads the disc.

    Why is this?

    Thanks

You can use a program called DVD Shrink which will allow you to compress the original movie down to a size that will fit onto a regular sized disc. You can also use the "Re-Author" method to backup just the movie, allowing less compression on the movie.

I know both my laptop and my desktop do not read dvd+r's, but have no problem reading dvd-r's. Some dvd players don't play dvd+r's (most of the one's that I've seen that don't play them are in-car dvd players). You can see if your burner is dvd-r compatible and test those to see if they will work on you player.

    Hope this helps some.

Here is a good site to check both Burner-Player compatibility with different media. Lots of other good information there too.
