Ok I am a noob when it comes to things like this but after coutnless hours of searching and downloading programs I am at my wits end and ready to ask for some help. I just downloaded a file from a friend that he said is ready to burn to a dvd it is in a TS. and VOB. file formats. I have tried all the programs but for some reason I guess I am just not as smart as I thought. Please someone anyone help me out. I am willing to give up my second born child at this point. I can play the movie with my player but when I try to burn it I get nothing. Thanks so much again.

along with those VOB files you should have some IFO and BUP files?? Whatever burning software came with your burner/computer should do it. Most likely Nero, Sonic, or Roxio. If it's Nero, look for something that says burn DVD Video files, then take everything in your VIDEO_TS folder and burn it. If you have Sonic, you may be able to do the same thing, but when I used it I had to burn the entire VIDEO_TS folder, not just the files inside it. Hopefully you will have some success doing this. If not, post back here and we'll help you further.

I have done all that. It says it is unable to insert the files when I use Nero Express but when I use the Nero burning Rom it tells me to use the Nero Express when I try to put the files into the video ts file folder and it will not let me. Do you have any other idea's.

hmmm....sounds as if your friend gave you some bogus files. That's the only possibility I can think of.

You can use a great program named: copy to dvd. Unfortunately it is only a 15 day trial period. Bummer. I got this through the 'Divx to dvd' program which I found on this site.
I havent tried to fake out the trial period by changing the clock back or anything but Im sure it would be able to tell anyways.
