I need help because I want to restore a rare prototype of The Simpsons Game for the original Xbox that was cancelled in place for the Xbox 360 version. I was wondering if you were able to extract an .xbe file to a .exe file.

what you need to find is our little project from 15+ years ago called CXBX .. people kept trying to say it was an emulator.. but the reality was.. it was an exe/xbe converter..

you might still find your mission to be impossible.. because the XBE uses unique code hooks called "signatures"..(plus a custom instruction set) and well.. sig files do exist, but very very unlikely they ever got out for an unreleased, cancelled and probably never completed version of a game

    happy hunting

where to find CXBX.. now that's the thing.. anybody seen Caustik?
