I have a DVD player that can play DivX/Xvid files, what I do is burn a few videos, depending on size (1.39 gig or 700mg) and my dvd player is able to play those without the need of any long DVD Authoring. I burn these videos as data on DVD blank. I'm sure I don't need to explain any further. My real question is, if I do the same with a x264 encoded file, meaning - to burn the file as DATA on DVD blank, will it be able to play on a DivX/Xvid supported DVD player or do I have to convert the x264 to another format? (right now its at ".mkv" extension) The only thing that plays x264 on PC is VLC player, nothing else, but I'd really love to burn the vid on a DVD and watch it on TV. Possible? or not? thanks
To play on the DivX machine they have to be converted to DivX (data disk) or converted to DVD format files and authored to DVD. Try SuperĀ© Download from Afterdawn Drag file onto window, select output container AVI with DivX codec. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm
